Surprisingly Better Than My Blundstones
I’ve worn Blundstone 1306s for years, but decided to try the Mongrel K9 Cloudy Brown boots after a recommendation—and I’m really impressed.
First off, they’re incredibly comfortable right out of the box. The footbed in the Mongrels feels more supportive than the Blundstones, especially if you’re on your feet a lot. The leather feels softer and more flexible, but still durable. They also breathe better, which has made a noticeable difference during long days.
I will say, they don’t have a steel toe (which is perfect for me since I don’t need one), but they still feel solid and well-made. The grip is excellent, and they feel more stable in wet or uneven conditions around the yard and sheds.
I still like the Blundstones, but the Mongrels just feel more purpose-built for real work and daily wear. They’ve earned a permanent place by the back door.
Highly recommended if you want a comfortable, lightweight boot that still works hard.
